KABUL: Afghanistan and Uzbekistan have signed 25 commercial agreements worth more than $300 million, aimed at expanding bilateral trade ties, Afghanistan\u2019s Ministry of Industry and Commerce said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to a ministry statement citing Nooruddin Azizi, the agreements were signed during a joint business meeting between traders from the two countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Azizi said there is a strong political and economic will on both sides to deepen relations, noting that trade ties have seen unprecedented growth in recent years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He also pointed to the potential for further expansion of trade and cooperation in 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Separately, Erkinjon Turdimov, governor of Uzbekistan\u2019s Syrdarya region, described Afghanistan\u2013Uzbekistan relations as historically and economically significant, and stressed the need to expand cooperation in industry, joint projects, and investment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The ministry said the agreements cover sectors including construction materials, food products, agriculture, furniture, clothing, and pharmaceuticals, to boost bilateral trade and meet the economic needs of both countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
