{"id":20235,"date":"2026-04-18T10:04:20","date_gmt":"2026-04-18T10:04:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/omidradio.com\/en\/?p=20235"},"modified":"2026-04-18T10:04:21","modified_gmt":"2026-04-18T10:04:21","slug":"over-1000-afghan-families-return-home-from-pakistan-in-single-day","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/omidradio.com\/en\/2026\/04\/18\/over-1000-afghan-families-return-home-from-pakistan-in-single-day\/","title":{"rendered":"Over 1,000 Afghan families return home from Pakistan in single day"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>KABUL: More than 1,000 Afghan refugee families returned to the country in one day through different border crossings, according to the High Commission for Addressing Refugee Issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a report released on Friday, a total of 1,076 families, comprising 5,802 individuals, were registered upon arrival in Afghanistan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The largest number of returnees came through the Torkham Border Crossing in Nangarhar province, with 908 families returning via this route, 73 families through Spin Boldak Border Crossing in Kandahar province, 60 families via the Silk Bridge route in Nimroz province, and 35 families through Islam Qala Border Crossing in Herat province.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The statement said that 529 families (2,961 individuals) were sent to their respective provinces, with around 2.2 million Afghanis provided for transportation costs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>More than 5 million Afghanis in cash assistance were distributed among 652 returning families, said the statement adding that health and service committees also provided medical services, food supplies, and communication support, including the free distribution of 1,102 SIM cards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Authorities added that returnees were also given guidance on registration procedures, transportation, assistance programs, temporary accommodation, and other related services.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>KABUL: More than 1,000 Afghan refugee families returned to the country in one day through different border crossings, according to the High Commission for Addressing Refugee Issues.
