KABUL: U.S. Vice President JD Vance has said the conflict between the United States and Iran will enter a \u201cmuch different phase\u201d over the next one to two months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Vance said Iran would increasingly lose its ability to control the Strait of Hormuz by the time of the U.S. midterm elections in November.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In an interview with Vance published on Tuesday, he said developments related to the conflict would change in the coming weeks and months, adding that the situation around the strategic waterway would also evolve as the confrontation continues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Iranian officials have not publicly commented on Vance\u2019s latest remarks. Tehran has previously stressed that it would defend the country\u2019s territorial integrity against what it describes as aggression.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Strait of Hormuz is a major route for global oil and energy shipments and disruptions to commercial shipping through the waterway can affect global energy markets and prices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
