KABUL: The Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs Mawlavi Amir Khan Muttaqi met with ambassadors and diplomatic representatives of 10 countries residing in Kabul, deputy spokesperson of the ministry, Hafiz Zia Ahmad stated this on his official X page on Wednesday.
The meeting was attended by ambassadors and representatives of Russia, China, Iran, Pakistan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, India, Turkey and Indonesia, according to tweet.
“Considering the Islamic Emirate’s relations with regional countries, minister Muttaqi emphasized that these countries should conduct regional consultations regarding the increase of positive interactions with Afghanistan,” Hafiz Zia quoted minister Muttaqi as saying.
He asked regional countries by using provided opportunity in Afghanistan to coordinate potential threats.
“Once again, he reiterated that appointing a Special Representative of the United Nations in Afghanistan within the existence of UNAMA is unnecessary,” tweet further said.
The meeting of the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs with the ambassadors and diplomatic representatives of 10 countries was held while a future meeting is scheduled to be hosted by the United Nations, with the participation of special representatives from countries around the world regarding Afghanistan’s affairs.
