Guterres calls for quick, safe access to aid workers across Gaza

KABUL: The United Nations Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres, has called for the access of aid workers to the entire Gaza Strip.

In a message, this morning [Thursday, 25 January] he stated that providing humanitarian assistance in Gaza requires certain needs.

“To be able to deliver effective humanitarian aid in Gaza, we need safety, we need equipment, we need more crossing points and we need access to the north,” he said.

The UN Secretary-General said: “I call for rapid, safe, unhindered, expanded & sustained humanitarian access throughout Gaza”.

The Secretary-General of the United Nations has called for safe access of aid workers to the entire Gaza Strip, as nearly 150 aid workers of the organization have been killed in the past four months in Israeli attacks on this city.

The United Nations considers this figure unprecedented in the history of its operations.
