Russian businessmen have shown interest in investing in Afghanistan’s nephrite, lapis lazuli, and marble mines

KABUL: The Ministry of Mines and Petroleum (MoMP), says that a number of Russian businessmen have shown interest in investing in Afghanistan’s mines, particularly in the country’s nephrite, lapis lazuli and marble mines.

The Acting Minister of Mines and Petroleum Shaikh Shahabuddin Delawar in a meeting with the Chinese and Russian businessmen discussed the availability of good investment opportunities for traders, said the ministry in a statement.

Shaikh Delawar said that the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum welcomes investment in Afghanistan’s mines from all countries.

At the same time, the Acting Minister of Mines and Petroleum has also said: “Facilities provided for the investors in the country”.

Currently, some countries, including China, have made vast investments in Afghanistan’s oil, copper and iron mines.
