Iran’s Foreign Minister visits Islamabad

KABUL: The Iranian Minister of Foreign Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, left Tehran for Islamabad on Sunday to meet high-ranking officials of the country, Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.

In the meeting, both sides will discuss bilateral cooperation in the areas of trade, industry, science, universities, security, and energy, said the statement.

Hossein Amir-Abdollahian’s visit was made at the invitation of Jalil Abbas Jilani, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Interim Government of Pakistan.

This visit took place following unprecedented tensions between Iran and Pakistan, during which both countries intensified their activities in each other’s soils on opposition’s hideouts.
