Cabinet meeting: Foreign Ministry tasked to pursue possible ways for release of Afghan prisoners in other countries 

KABUL: The 15th cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Mullah Mohammad Hassan Akhund, discussed various issues on agenda and assigned the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to seek ways for release of Afghans from other countries, Arg said in a statement Monday.

In the meeting, a committee led by Qari Din Mohammad Hanif, the Acting Minister of Economy, has been tasked to review nomad (Kuchis) problems, particularly in areas affected by drought and share their reports to the coming meeting, according to the statement.

The cabinet has tasked the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to seek the release of prisoners held in foreign prisons. Recently, during the visit of the Iranian judicial delegation to Afghanistan, discussions have taken place regarding the exchange of prisoners and the commutation of death sentences for Afghan citizens in that country.

On the other hand, in the past few day, over 20 Afghan nationals have been released from Pakistani jails and returned home.
