KABUL: The Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development said in a statement on Monday that cash and foodstuffs were distributed to over 21 thousand families in 9 provinces of the country.
According to the source, 2,300 families in Kabul, 7000 families in Paktia, 1350 families in Logar, 6000 families in Paktika, 800 families in Helmand, 1300 families in Parwan, 3492 families in Samangan, 3600 families in Badakhshan, and 1624 families in Uruzgan, received humanitarian assistance.
“The aids has been in the form of cash and foodstuffs based on the needs and demands of the local residents,” said the statement.
The assistance has been provided by the World Food Programme (WFP) and distributed to destitute families in collaboration with the provincial directorate of the ministry.
The process of providing assistance to needy families continues in the country.
The Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development also announced yesterday the distribution of food and cash assistance to thousands of families in several provinces of the country.
