KABUL: The Meeting of the 12 committees of the High Commission for addressing the migrants’ problems, was held late on yesterday, with the Deputy Prime Minister for Administrative Affairs Mawlavi Abdul Salam Hanafi on the chair.
In the meeting, discussion took place regarding various issues for addressing migrants’ problems including the distribution of land in migrant townships for the returnees who lack housing, providing job opportunities for returnees, providing facilities for returning traders, land distribution for them in industrial parks, creating small businesses and joint-stock companies for providing job opportunities for them, provision of cash and non-cash assistance to them, and ways to collaborate in addressing the challenges faced returnees, Arg said in a statement.
In the meeting, the heads of the 12 committees also presented reports on their activities.
The High Commission for Addressing Returnees Problems was established following the forced expulsion of Afghan migrants from Pakistan and Iran, as ordered by the leadership of the Islamic Emirate.
The commission has been managing the affairs related to the problems of returning migrants.
