Contract for extraction of Ghor’s lead and zinc mines, worth $247mln signed

KABUL: The Ministry of Mines and Petroleum says the contract of the third block of lead and zinc mines of Ghor province, signed with the cost of 274 million US dollars.

Minister of Mines and Petroleum Shaikh Shahabuddin Delawar, on Thursday, signed the contract with the representative of the Khpalwak Kazemi mining company, the ministry said in a statement.

Based on the source, the said company is obligated to spend 10 million US dollars of the total amount of the contract on social projects.

The lead and zinc mines are located in the “Shahrak” district of Ghor province.
