KABUL: The tax authorities of Afghanistan and Uzbekistan held their first meeting in order to prevent double (bilateral) taxation.
The Ministry of Finance said in a statement Monday that the two countries’ delegations after full discussion reached an agreement and signed a draft agreement.
“This agreement will lead to the expansion of economic and trade relations, increased investment volume, enhanced bilateral cooperation, prevention of tax evasion, and facilitation of domestic and international trade,” said the statement.
The Ministry of Finance has stated that in the near future, the next round of this meeting will be held with the participation of the two countries high-ranking officials.
Afghanistan and Uzbekistan have extensive economic and commercial relations.
