Afghanistan supports TAPI project: Delawar

KABUL: The Acting Minister of Mines and Petroleum Shaikh Shahabuddin Delawar, on Saturday in a meeting with the Executive Director of TAPI and ambassador of Turkmenistan said that Afghans fully support the Project.

 “TAPI is of regional importance and the Islamic Emirate spare no efforts in the implementation of the project,” the ministry in a statement quoted Shaikh Delawar as saying.

The Minister of Mines and Petroleum emphasized on the resumption of the TAPI project in the country.

TAPI is one of the immense economic projects that transfers Turkmenistan’s gas through a pipeline from Afghanistan to Pakistan and India.

In addition to the use of liquefied gas, Afghanistan also gets $400 million in transit rights annually.
