DABS welcomes World Bank’s initiative 

KABUL: Following the allocation of $300 million by the World Bank for the completion of the CASA-1000 project, Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat (DABS) has welcomed this initiative.

Spokesperson of Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat, Hekmatullah Maiwandi, in a videoclip Saturday, stated that the leadership of DABS has welcomed and appreciated the decision of the World Bank’s Board of Directors.

“The World Bank’s decision to complete the CASA-1000 electricity transmission project is not only important for Afghanistan but also to the entire region,” said DABS spokesman.

Mr. Maiwandi, further said, “The company is committed to providing the required electricity to the citizens of the country in a regular and reliable manner”.

It is worth mentioning that two days ago, the World Bank Board of Directors approved the allocation of $300 million from the Bank’s International Development Association (IDA) fund for the resumption of half-finished projects in Afghanistan.

It has been said that the allocated amount will be used for the resumption of the CASA-1000 project.
