KABUL: A Russian investor will invest in collecting waste and generating 130 megawatts of electricity and e-governance in Afghanistan.
Head of the Russian Khempirom Service International Company, Alexandrovich Malchenov made the remarks yesterday in a meeting with Mullah Abdul Wase, the head of the Prime Minister’s Office, Arg said in a statement.
According to the statement, the Russian businessman wants to install 14 turbines in Kabul to produce 130 megawatts of electricity from the collected waste.
“Collected garbage of the Kabul city can be converted into gas, electricity and chemical fertilizer,” the statement quoted Malchenov as saying.
Mullah Wase, welcomed the proposal of the Russian businessman and assured the Islamic Emirate’s support and provided facilities for investors in the country.
