KABUL: The Deputy Prime Minister for Fuel and Energy of Turkmenistan on Gas energy Batyr Amanov, in a meeting on Wednesday with the acting Minister of Foreign Affairs Mawlavi Amir Khan Muttaqi, said that transfer of gas energy to Afghanistan, particularly through the TAPI pipeline project, is in the top priority of the country.
The deputy spokesman of the ministry of foreign affairs Hafiz Zia Ahmad Takal, said that the TAPI pipeline project and transfer of liquefied gas to Afghanistan were the main issues discussed in the meeting by the two sides.
The Islamic Emirate is firmly committed to commencing practical work on the TAPI project said the acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and express hope that its initial phase will begin soon in Herat province.
According to Mawlavi Amir Khan Mutaqi, Herat, located in the west of the country, is a populous province that will open up a good market for the country with the arrival of the Turkmenistan gas pipeline.
TAPI is one of the major regional projects that involves in transfer of the Turkmenistan gas pipeline to Pakistan and India via Afghanistan.
Its mentionable, that TAPI project is one of the key issues for the joint Afghan delegation’s visit to Turkmenistan.
