Release of country’s assets helps to improve child and maternal health, Dr. Ebad

KABUL: The Acting Minister of Public Health Dr. Qalandar Ebad says that the release of the country’s foreign reserves can have a significant impact on implementing essential programs in improving child and maternal health.

Dr. Qalandar Ebad while speaking at a meeting of health aid organizations in Doha, Qatar, emphasized the need for further reforms in the health sector in the country.

 “The independence of the health sector and standardizing the delivery of health services are among other programs that will be funded if the country’s foreign reserves are released,” said Dr. Ebad.

Reforms, joint supervision, moving towards self-sufficiency in the health sector and providing healthcare services to rural areas are among other issues mentioned in the meeting by the acting public health minister.

In the past two and a half years, the Ministry of Public Health has been striving to reform and expand the country’s health sector and provide healthcare services.

Training healthcare personnel abroad to achieve self-sufficiency in the health sector is one of the important programs of the Ministry of Public Health.
