KABUL: The Ministry of Mines and Petroleum signed three contracts worth 120 Afghanis (some 1,657,142 US dollars) with the private sector, the ministry said in a statement on Saturday.
The newly contracted mines included Block B of the marble mine in the Khas district of Uruzgan province, the granite mine in the Panjpay area of the Mihtarlam district of Laghman province, and the gypsum mine in the Pir Sukh area of Guzra district of Herat province.
According to the statement, the marble mine has been contracted with the cost of 68 million Afghanis, the granite mine with the cost of 34 million Afghanis, and the gypsum mine with the cost of 21 million Afghanis.
The term of the aforementioned contracts is five years.
