UNAMA mission in Afghanistan extended for another year

KABUL: The members of the United Nations Security Council have extended the mission of the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) for another year.

In a session held last night, fifteen members of the council issued a resolution for the extension of the UNAMA in Afghanistan.

The resolution no 2,727 of the United Nations Security Council allows the UNAMA and its relevant agencies to continue their activities in Afghanistan until 17th March 2025.

Based on the resolution, the Security Council calls on all countries, institutions, and organizations to coordinate with UNAMA in their execution in Afghanistan.
