KABUL: The Foreign Ministers of Afghanistan and Uzbekistan have reassured their commitment to pursuing newly established agreements between the two countries.
The remarks were made during a telephone conversation between the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs Mawlavi Amir Khan Muttaqi and his Uzbek counterpart Bakhtiyor Saidov, said the ministry in a statement.
Both sides emphasized to maintain high-level relations to ensure the sustainability of the new agreements between the two countries.
During the telephone conversation, the Foreign Ministers of the two countries emphasized that in the coming days, a follow-up meeting at the ministerial level will be held to further discuss the aforementioned agreements.
No details have been provided regarding the specific agreements that have been reached.
Last week, a delegation led by Bakhtiyor Saidov visited Afghanistan and held meetings with the high-ranking officials of the Islamic Emirate in which various issues including agriculture, trade, railways, energy, and other sectors were discussed and both sides reached agreements.
