Putin wins Russian presidential elections

KABUL: Vladimir Putin, the current president of Russia, has once again remained in power by winning the presidential elections in the country.

Reuters citing Russian official election results reported last night (Monday, 18th March), said Vladimir Putin has emerged victorious in the elections with 87% of the votes.

The voting process after three days ended on Sunday evening.

With this result, Vladimir Putin will lead the Eastern Bloc from the Kremlin for another six years.

In a message celebrating his victory, Putin stated that the West should take Russia into account in matters of war and peace.

If Putin survives this six-year term, he will break the longest record of Russian leadership held by Joseph Stalin.

The United States, Britain, Germany, and some other countries have expressed concerns about the imprisonment of voters and have questioned the fairness and freedom of the elections.

The presidential elections in Russia began on Friday and continued until late yesterday.

Putin and three other candidates were competing in these elections.
