KABUL: The acting Minister of Hajj and Islamic Affairs Noor Mohammad Saqib, and his accompanying delegation, during their trip to Uzbekistan, visited Samarkand city, where they were welcomed by the governor, mayor and religious scholars of the city.
“Bilateral relations between the scholars of the two countries, exchanging experiences regarding the training of mosque imams and improving the quality of education in madrassas (religious schools), were also discussed between the Afghan delegation and the officials and scholars of Samarkand city of Uzbekistan,” the Ministry of Hajj said in a statement.
Mawlavi Noor Mohammad Saqib and his accompanying delegation have also visited the mausoleum of Imam Bukhari (May he rest in peace) as well as other Islamic sites and centers in the city of Samarkand.
