Aynak copper mine electricity to be supplied from Bagh Dara and Surobi-2 dams

KABUL: The Minister of Water and Energy Mullah Abdul Latif Mansoor in a meeting with the representative of China’s MCC Company said that for the extraction of Mes Aynak Copper mine necessary electricity will be supplied from the Bagh Dara and Surobi-2 dams, the ministry said in a statement.

Mullah Abdul Latif Mansoor suggested the use of the Bagh Dara power dam in Kapisa province and Surobi-2 in Kabul to the officials of the Chinese MCC company.

“Utilizing these two power dams would not only solve the energy problem of the Aynak copper mine but also provide convenience for the people of Afghanistan,” the statement quoted Minister Mansoor as saying.

Meanwhile, officials of China’s MCC Company assured that they will conduct their evaluations regarding the proposed suggestion and will share their decision.
