UNAMA increases development projects for Afghans’ access to clean water

KABUL: Deputy Special Representative of the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan, Indrika Ratwatte, in a meeting with the Acting Minister of Rural Rehabilitation and Development (MRRD) Mullah Mohammad Yunus Akhund said today that UNAMA wants to increase development projects for citizens’ access to clean water.

 “The United Nations Assistance Mission intends to increase the implementation of development projects for the Afghan citizens’ access to safe drinking water,” the ministry quoted Ratwatte in a statement as saying.

UNAMA has also praised the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development’s achievements in the implementation of the development projects.

Meanwhile, Mullah Mohammad Yunus Akhand, Acting Minister of Rural Rehabilitation and Development, has considered the implementation of development projects important and emphasized on prioritizing infrastructure projects in the country.

These projects will be implemented with the financial support of the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF), in the country.
