KABUL: The acting Minister of Foreign Affairs Mawlavi Amir Khan Muttaqi, met with the Head of the Asia-Pacific Regional Director of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), Alexander Matheou, here in Kabul, Hafiz Zia Ahmad Takal, the Deputy Spokesman of the Ministry said in a statement today.
In the meeting, Mattheou provided information about his-led organizations’ activities in the country and said that services worth 28 million Swiss francs have been provided to 5 million people in Afghanistan over the past year.
The provided amount has been spent on health, sanitation and natural disaster response for the needy people in Afghanistan, he said.
Meanwhile, Mawlavi Amir Khan Muttaqi, the Acting Foreign Minister, said: “The international community should see the real picture of Afghanistan with their own eyes and convey it to the world”.
Praising the activities of the International Red Crescent Federation Minister Muttaqi asked for more assistance and support for the Afghan people.
It is worth mentioning that the IFRC, as an international humanitarian organization, has close cooperation with the Afghan Red Crescent Society in the country.
