Moscow calls for handing over Afghanistan’s UN seat to the Islamic Emirate

KABUL: The Russian Special Representative for Afghanistan, Zamir Kabulov, in a meeting with the Deputy Prime Minister for Political Affairs Mawlavi Abdul Kabir, said that Moscow calling for handing over Afghanistan’s permanent seat at the United Nations to the representative of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, Arg said in a statement.

In the meeting, Kabulov stressed that Russia’s relations with the Islamic Emirate will continue and that Russian investors are interested in investing in Afghanistan.

He praised the efforts of the Islamic Emirate in the fight against ISIS and drugs.

Meanwhile, Deputy Prime Minister for Political Affairs Mawlavi Abdul Kabir welcomed Russia’s position towards Afghanistan and expressed gratitude for that country’s assistance.

Mawlavi Kabir said: “Kabul and Moscow can tackle the threats together and called for the formal membership of the Moscow Format to be delegated to Afghanistan.”

This comes as yesterday Russia’s special representative for Afghanistan, in a meeting with the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, called for the release of Afghanistan’s frozen assets by the United States.
