KABUL: The Iranian ambassador and special envoy on Afghanistan Affairs, Mohammad Hassan Kazemi Qomi, in a meeting with the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, said that Iran is ready to address the banking problems of Afghan traders.
In the meeting, which was attended by the Acting Ministers of Water and Energy, Agriculture and Livestock, Information and Culture, as well as the Afghan Ambassador to Iran, he [Qomi] also assured his country’s readiness in increasing trade and transit levels with Afghanistan, the deputy PM office said in a statement.
“Iran is ready to cooperate with Afghanistan in the areas of environmental protection and modernizing the agricultural sector,” the statement quoted him as saying.
Meanwhile, Deputy Prime Minister Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, while evaluating Kabul and Tehran relations positively, emphasized for further development of relations and cooperation between the two sides.
He asked the Iranian side to provide further facilities for the transit of Afghan products to European countries through Iran.
