JALALABAD: The Nangarhar’s provincial governor press office said in a statement on its X account on Saturday that four people have been martyred as a result of a Mountain slide on the Kabul-Jalalabad highway.
According to the statement, four people who were passing through the region in a passenger car were martyred, when a mountain slide engulfed their car.
The deadly incident took place on the Kabul-Jalalabad highway near the Daronta area of the eastern Laghman province, the statement said, adding that the road has been blocked for traffic.
Since few days ago, many provinces of the country have been experiencing heavy rain and flash floods, which has led to the martyring and injuring of Afghans and destroying partially or completely of residential houses and agricultural lands.
It comes as the Afghanistan Meteorological Authority has forecasted heavy and successive rain in the coming days in the country
