Our sports community should represent Islamic values and Afghan culture, Wasiq

KABUL: The President of the National Olympic Committee and Sports of the country, Mawlavi Ahmadullah Wasiq, in a meeting with a number of athletes and officials of Khost province said that we should have a sports community that represents Islamic values and Afghani culture.

In the meeting, Mawlavi Wasiq called Khost as one of the country’s richest provinces with the highest number of athletes and emphasized special attention has been paid to the province.

The President of the National Olympic Committee congratulated the recent victory of the futsal team and their qualification for the Futsal World Cup.

He further stated that alongside focusing on the development of athletes’ sports abilities, attention should also be paid to their intellectual and moral growth.

In the meeting, officials and athletes of Khost province also expressed their suggestions and recommendations.

It’s worth noting that after the restoration of the Islamic Emirate, significant efforts have been made toward the growth of sports in the country.
