Afghanistan and Uzbekistan sign contracts worth $44 million

KABUL: Afghanistan and Uzbekistan signed contracts worth $44 million, Central Asia Times quoted the Uzbek Chamber of Commerce as saying.

The contracts were signed during a three-day visit of the Uzbek delegation to Kabul.

Based on the contract agricultural goods, including foodstuffs, textiles, leather, electrical components, and construction materials will be imported from Uzbekistan to Afghanistan.

The Chamber of Commerce of Uzbekistan stated that the trade volume between the two countries has reached to $7 billion.

Also, a Trade Council between Afghanistan and Uzbekistan will be inaugurated soon, with the membership of 18 Afghan companies.

Following the Islamic Emirate’s economic-oriented policies, political and trade relations between Afghanistan, neighboring and Central Asian countries are expanding.
