Afghan pilgrims first flight leaves for Saudi Arabia

KABUL: The Ministry of Hajj and Islamic Affairs said in a statement on Thursday that the process of transferring Hajj pilgrims from Afghanistan to Saudi Arabia has been started.

About 230 Hajj pilgrims left on Wednesday night, May 8, on the first flight to Saudi Arabia.

A ceremony held on the occasion of sending the first Afghan pligrims to Saudi, the acting Minister of Hajj and Islamic Affairs Noor Mohammad Saqib, said in order to provide better services to Hajj pilgrims, the employees of the working committees have been sent to Saudi Arabia earlier than in previous years.

This year quota for Afghan pilgrims is 30,000 and will be carried by Ariana Afghan Airlines and Kam Air .
