IEA condolences message over recent devastating flash flood victims

KABUL: Spokesman of the Islamic Emirate Mawlavi Zabihullah Mujahid, in a statement on Friday expressed deep condolences over the recent devastating flash floods that inflicted casualties and damages in Baghlan, Badakhshan, Ghor, and Herat provinces of the country.

“As a result of a tragic incident, hundreds of fellow citizens in the mentioned provinces have lost their lives or have been injured,” the statement quoted him as saying.

The Islamic Emirate has instructed relevant institutions, including the Ministries of Disaster Management, Interior Affairs, and local authorities, to take necessary measures to assist flood-affected people, according to the statement.

In the statement, the Islamic Emirate wished paradise for the martyrs and a speedy recovery for the injured.

It is mentionable that in the past 24 hours, recent heavy rains triggered with floods in Baghlan, Badakhshan, Ghor and Herat provinces inflicting heavy financial and human losses.

It is reported that the majority of casualties and financial damages have occurred in the central district of Baghlan province.
