KABUL: The Deputy Prime for Economic Affairs Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, during his trip to Baghlan province, met with the survivors of flood-affected families in the province, his office said in a statement today.
According to the statement, in the meeting, Deputy PM Mullah Baradar expressed regret over the flash floods, in which a number of our compatriots including women and children were martyred, and their residential houses were washed out.
Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar said, “Our purpose for this visit is not only to offer condolences but also to assure you that the Islamic Emirate will stand by you until your lives return to normal.”
He emphasized that all ministries and government institutions are utilizing all available resources and making efforts to assist the flood-affected people.
Meanwhile, the Acting Minister of Public Health Dr. Qalander Ebad, reassured the survivors of recent floods in Baghlan province that all necessary healthcare services have been provided to the injured.
It should be noted that Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, traveled to Baghlan province after holding the meeting of the emergency committee at the Marmarin Palace in Kabul.
He visited the affected areas today and monitored the relief efforts for the flood-affected people.
