KABUL: The United States has expressed its deep sympathy and condolences to the flood-affected families in Afghanistan.
“The United States is deeply saddened by reports of the many Afghan lives impacted by and lost to the devastating floods in Afghanistan yesterday, including in Baghlan, Badakhshan, Samangan, Takhar, Ghor, Herat and other provinces,” said the US special representative for Afghanistan Thomas West in a statement on his X account yesterday.
“Our implementing partners are mobilizing emergency relief including food, water, and other essential materials to communities in gravest need. Our thoughts are with those who’ve lost loved ones,” he said.
Also, the Secretary General of the United Nations expressed his deepest condolences to the Afghan flood victims yesterday.
Meanwhile, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the United Nations have in a statement said that they are working with the Afghan government to coordinate aid.
