KABUL: Indian officials said that they have signed a long-term [ten-year] agreement with the Iranian side on the control, operation, and development of Chabahar port.
Indian officials have said that their relations with a strategic country in the Middle East (Iran) have been strengthened and economic transactions with them have also been expanded compared to the past.
The long-term agreement was signed between India Ports Global Limited and the Ports and Maritime Organization of Iran.
It has been said that the respective Indian company took over the operations of this port in 2018 and since then, about 90 thousand containers have been transferred from this port.
Chabahar port is located on the southeast coast of Iran, where commercial goods are shipped to Afghanistan and Central Asia.
