KABUL: Construction work on 12 check dams worth 50 million Afghani kicked off in Ghor province, the Ministry of Water and Energy said in a statement today.
The check dams will be built in 12 districts such as Pasaband, Teyora, Saghar, Tolak, Shahrak, Dawlatyar, Lal O Sarjangle, Chahar Sada, Murgha, Al-Farooq and Allahyar, with the financial support of the Ministry of Water and Energy for the management of underground water resources and floods, said the statement.
It’s expected that 400 check dams to be built in the country, with at least one check dam in one district.
