KABUL: The Deputy Prime Minister for Political Affairs Mawlavi Abdul Kabir, said that one of the factors behind the current instability in the country over the past five decades has been the people’s stay away from the books, especially the youth.
He made the remarks on the final day of the book exhibition held at the Pul-e-Charkhi prison, Arg said in a statement.
He praised the initiative of the prison administration for organizing the Book Exhibition in Pul-e-Charkhi prison.
He expressed hope that the prisoners would benefit from the exhibition and read effective books.
The Deputy Prime Minister for Political Affairs Mawlavi Abdul Kabir, tasked relevant organs, that in order to prevent ideological and cultural invasions in the country, books, articles and programs should be prepared in print and visual forms, and made available to citizens, especially the youth, through various means, particularly social media.
Mawlavi Abdul Kabir has called on writers and intellectuals to complement the relationship between Islamic culture, the rich Afghan culture, and the needs of society and the youth through their writings.
To celebrate Book Week, in the past few days, the book exhibition has been held in Pul-e-Charkhi prison.
