Over 4,200 Afghans released from Pakistani jails

KABUL: After the takeover of the country by the Islamic Emirate 4,228 Afghan refugees including women and children have been released from the prison of Pakistan’s Sindh state, Abdul Jabadar Takhari, Afghan Consulate in Karachi said in a videotape.

Recently, 23 Afghans including women and children have been released from Sindh state of that country, he said.

According to him, the Afghans have been released as a result of the efforts made by the Afghan Embassy based in Pakistan and the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan diplomatic channels.

He said that, presently 40 Afghan nationals are in Sindh prisons and efforts are underway to release them.
