Putin agrees to a ceasefire deal with recognition of current battle lines in Ukraine

KABUL: Russian President Vladimir Putin agrees to a ceasefire and a peace deal, on the condition that the current battle lines in Ukraine are recognized, Reuters reported.

The Reuters quoting some Russian sources said on Friday that Putin is not optimistic about the peace talks between Moscow and Kyiv.

The Russian President emphasized that if the current battle lines are not recognized, the war in Ukraine will continue.

“The West has made efforts to destroy the Ukrainian President’s determination to reject a peace deal and ceasefire with Russia,” said the Kremlin leader.

So far, Ukrainian and Russian officials have not officially commented in this regard.

The war between Russia and Ukraine has entered its third year.

Despite Russia’s relentless attacks, the West has provided Ukraine with military aid, allowing it to withstand the said attacks.
