KABUL: Spokesman of the Ministry of Public Works Mohammad Ashraf Haqshinas said today that the construction work on the 4th section of the 2nd phase of the Khawaf-Herat railway project, worth $53 million begins.
In the ceremony held on the occasion of the inauguration of the work on the railway was attended by
Mullah Bakht-ur Rahman Sharafat, the Deputy Minister of Public Works, and a number of provincial officials of Herat province.
The projects begin from Rubat Parian area of Zenda Jan district and continue up to Herat Airport.
With the completion of the project, Herat Industrial Park, through Iran, will be connected to European markets.
Khawaf-Herat railway project has 4 sections with 72 kilometers in Iran and 153 kilometers inside Afghanistan.
