60,000 tons of Qashqari crude oil worth $33 mln sold, ministry

KABUL: The Ministry of Mines and Petroleum says that 60,000 tons of crude oil from the Qashqari oilfields in the Amu Darya oil basin have been sold for $33 million through a bidding process.

According to the Ministry, the bidding ceremony was attended by Shahabuddin Delawar, the acting Minister of Mines and Petroleum, and some other officials.

Speaking in the ceremony, Minister Delawar said that with the re-establishment of the Islamic Emirate, transparency has prevailed in all sectors, and special attention has been paid to the management of the country’s natural resources.

According to the ministry, 18 companies participated in the bidding ceremony, from among them the “Yama Petroleum” company was able to successfully purchase the crude oil by offering the highest price ($33 million).
