KABUL: Construction work on a Water dam worth 5 million Afghanis (Some 69, 500 US dollars) kicked off in the country’s central province of Maidan Wardak, the Ministry of Water and Energy said in a statement on Wednesday.
.The dam, under the name of ‘Solidarity Nature Dam’ (Band-e-Aab Hambastagi Tabeyat), will be built with the financial support of local residents and some merchants, in the Hes-e-Awal Behsud district of Maidan Wardak province, said the statement.
The Dam with 200 meters long and 11 meters high, will have the capacity to store 2 million cubic meters of water, said the statement.
The construction of the dam will provide a beautiful view and opportunities for tourism and recreation for the local residents.
