Two development projects inaugurated in Samangan and Laghman

KABUL: Two development projects worth 7.9 million Afghanis (some 109,810 US Dollars) have been inaugurated in Samangan and Laghman provinces, the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development said in separate statements.

The projects include the construction of a water supply network in Laghman province and the construction of a dam in Samangan province.

According to the statement, the water supply network has been built at the cost of 4.9 million Afghanis by the financial support of the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) in Gandab village, Qarghaye district of Laghman province.

With the completion of the water supply network, safe drinking water was provided to 370 families.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Water and Energy said that the construction of a dam in the Zigolik Nowabad area of Dara-e-Suf district in Samangan province, worth 3 million Afghanis, has been completed and inaugurated.

With the implementation of the project job opportunities have been provided for dozens of people.
