KABUL: Two gunmen who intended to attack Iranian security forces were killed after the forces opened fire on them, Iran-state-run media Tasnim, reported.
The incident took place in Iranshahr district, Sistan and Baluchistan province of that country, according to the report.
The report states that both armed men attacked the Iranian patrol forces while chanting Allahu Akbar (Allah is the greatest).
The military command of Sistan and Baluchistan, Iran, said that the security forces opened fire on the two gunmen and killed them before they could carry out their attack.
The identities of the attackers have not been disclosed so far.
Attacks on Iranian security forces have recently increased by armed groups in the region.
