Afghan Cricket Team defeats Uganda in first match in T20 World Cup 2024

KABUL: The Afghan National Cricket Team in its first match defeated Uganda by 125 runs in the T20 World Cup 2024 in Guyana on Tuesday.

Among the Afghan batsmen, Rahmanullah Garbz and Ibrahim Zadran scored half-centuries, and among the batsmen, Fazlul Haq Farooqi was the best .

In the match, Ibrahim Zadran scored 70 runs off 46 balls and Rahmanullah Garbz scored 76 runs off 45 balls.  On the other hand, Fazalul Haq Farooqui gave 9 runs in four overs and sent 5 players of the rival team out of the stadium.

The Ugandan cricket team scored only 58 runs against Afghanistan’s 183 runs and the entire team was dismissed in 16 overs.

Afghanistan’s next cricket match will be against New Zealand in four days (June 8).
