KABUL: The acting Economy Minister Qari Din Mohammad Hanif, met with Stephen Rodriques, the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) Resident Representative in his office on Monday.
In the meeting, coordination and establishment of joint working committees on the humanitarian aid process have been discussed between the two sides.
Stephen assured the UNDP of readiness for the implementation of development projects based on the urgent needs of the people, said the statement.
He also assured of the UNDP’s cooperation in supporting small and medium enterprises, developing trade and banking activities, managing water through the construction of agricultural water facilities as well as cooperation in alternative poppy cultivation with farmers, according to the statement.
The acting Minister of Economy, while welcoming the UNDP’s cooperation that creates job opportunities, emphasized the urgent economic priorities.
A joint technical team from the UNDP is set to begin work related to changing the trajectory of development and humanitarian aid.
