UN Security Council approves ceasefire resolution in Gaza Strip

KQBUL: According to reports, the United Nations Security Council has approved a ceasefire resolution proposed by the United States to support a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.

The ceasefire resolution in the Gaza Strip proposed by the US has been adopted by the permanent and non-permanent members of the UN Security Council.

Under the resolution, a complete ceasefire will be established in Gaza for the first six weeks.

The initial phase includes the release of hostages, prisoner exchange, the withdrawal of Israeli regime forces from densely populated areas, and the return of displaced Palestinians to their homes.

The second phase will lead to the full release of all hostages and the complete withdrawal of Zionist Israeli regime forces from all parts of Gaza, and the third phase will focus on the reconstruction of the devastated Gaza Strip.

The resolution was adopted with 14 votes in favor and one abstention by Russia.
