KABUL: The Ministry of Refugees and Repatriations said on Thursday that eight cooperation agreements worth $4,359,000 have been signed between the ministry and non-governmental partner institutions.
According to the ministry, based on the agreements, the institutions of Social and Economic Development, Afghans to Support Education, Women for Women, Migrants, Coordination and Development of Humanitarian Assistance, will provide multiple services to the returned refugees in accordance with the agreements.
Among these, the Women for Women organization will provide logistical support to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees office worth $3,952,000.
According to the ministry, thousands of people in Balkh, Samangan, Jawzjan, Faryab, Baghlan, Takhar, Kunduz, Badakhshan, Sar-e-Pul, Kabul, Kandahar, Helmand, Zabul, Uruzgan, Nimroz, Herat, Nangarhar, Laghman, Kunar and Nuristan provinces will benefit from the agreements.
Meanwhile, efforts are underway by the Islamic Emirate and international organizations to improve the situation of returned migrants and internally displaced persons.
