First group of Afghan Pilgrims returns to country

KABUL: The Ministry of Hajj and Islamic Affairs said in a statement that the post-hajj operation kicked off today [Saturday, June 22, 2024], with the first flight of Afghan pilgrims returning to the country.

According to the statement, about 346 pilgrims from Paktia and Paktika provinces returned from Saudi Arabia to Kabul today.

The process for transporting pilgrims to Saudi Arabia started on May 9. About 30,000 people were flown via 94 flights to the holy land to perform Hajj.

With the efforts and proper management of the Ministry of Hajj and Islamic Affairs, this year’s Hajj pilgrimage was completed without any challenges.
