KABUL: The Ministry of Interior Affairs in a statement on Friday night rejected the recent report of the United Nations Secretary-General regarding an increase in security incidents in the country, terming it as contrary to the existing realities.
Spokesman of the Ministry of Interior Affairs Mufti Abdul Mateen Qani, rejecting the report said: “The security situation is currently stable throughout the country and apart from minor incidents, no major events have occurred that would indicate instability”.
The operations conducted by IEA forces against drug traffickers and kidnapping gangs may have been recorded as insecurity in the UN report, which is not correct, he said.
Antonio Guterres, the United Nations Secretary-General, presenting his quarterly report on the security situation in Afghanistan to the Security Council of the organization the other day, in a part of the report said that security incidents in the country have increased.
